Google has announced an update to the Calendar that will provide an updated look and feel, as well as some new functionality. This update is currently available to preview and test with your specific needs.
What this means to you
Beginning January 4, 2018, the new calendar view will become the default view when you log into your calendar, however, you will be able to switch back to the old, classic calendar until the end of February. As of February 28, 2018, Google will no longer offer the classic calendar.
- To begin using the new calendar, locate and click on the Use new Calendar button on the upper right side.
- To change back to the classic Calendar, click on Settings button and choose Back to classic Calendar.
- If you, or your department, use shared calendars or other unique features, please preview and test these features in the new calendar well before February 28, 2018. Please notify the Helpdesk if you notice any resulting difficulties or changes to your functions and we will work with you to find a solution or alternative options.
To learn what’s new in Google Calendar, please see Google documentation or click on Help in the Settings menu.
As always, if you have any questions or have difficulties using the new calendar, please contact the Helpdesk for assistance (email@example.com, 527-4976.)
